Shari Whitney NARHA Certified Instructor shari@coloradohorsepower.org
Shari Whitney has loved horses all her life, but began riding and owning her own horses just out of college, and has maintained those loving relationships for about ten years now. Shari has a bachelor degree in psychology, and while working at a mental health agency and owning a wonderful Arabian horse named Wish, she thought to bring troubled youth together with troubled horses to see if they could help to heal each other. This program sparked a passion in Shari to bring her psychology experience and her love of horses together, which inspired her to achieve NARHA Registered Instructor Certification. After about five years volunteering and then leading her own classes for troubled youth, Shari has come to Horsepower to enrich the lives of even more wonderful people.
Shari currently owns a big thoroughbred gelding named Indy, a great dane named Bella, a German Shepard named Lucy, a cuddly kitty named Oscar and a guinea pig named Piggy Sue. She is a mother to a smart and active five year old boy, who also has a great love for horses and people. She lives in Denver with her family, working with animals of all kinds, teaching her son how to ride a quarter horse named Scooter, and riding Indy as often as possible.
